About Ranthambore National Park

Ranthambore’s dramatic landscape of dry deciduous forest is punctuated by rocky ridges, steep cliffs, and ancient ruins, including the imposing Ranthambore Fort. Scattered lakes such as Padam Talao and Rajbagh Talao are magnets for wildlife, especially in summer. The park is one of the best places in India to spot tigers in the wild, often seen lounging near water bodies. Marsh crocodiles, leopards, jackals, and an impressive variety of birds share this rugged yet captivating landscape.

Ranthambore National Park is one of the most popular tiger reserves in India, offering some of the best chances of spotting the Royal Bengal Tiger in the wild. Leopards, striped hyenas, caracals, jackals, and sloth bears are also part of the predator list. Herbivores include chital, nilgai, sambar, and wild boar. Reptiles like marsh crocodiles are commonly seen near lakes such as Padam Talao and Rajbagh. Ranthambore has a recorded 320 bird species, including grey hornbills, serpent eagles, painted spurfowl, owls, and migratory ducks and geese in winter.
